Honored to be an interviewer and a contributor to the 6th edition of How To Survive Your Freshman Year. I interviewed many college students and graduates about their college experience and advise they have for incoming freshman. I also contributed an essay - How to Survive Freshman English.

I am happy to announce that my most recent peer-reviewed scholarly article, The Ascetic Life of the Ultrarunner, is published in the fall 2018 issue of Spiritus: A Journal of Christian Spirituality. To access it, click here.

I was already a published author before I ventured into blogging. My entry into the blogging world was a pleasant "accident." It started after a chance encounter with Arianna Huffington via the TV. Sleep deprived and unable to sleep one Sunday night, I got up to journal. Then I turned the TV on to one of my favorite public cable channels - C-Span 2 BookTV. I watched Arianna Huffington talk about her book The Sleep Revolution and then announce her email address.

I immediately emailed her and shared my sleep deprivation and the reason behind it. Two days later she invited me to give my voice to the Huffington Post. Come What May; I Want to Run: How Ultrarunning Saved My Life, was my first Huffington Post piece published in April 2016. More followed. I write about ultrarunning, health challenges, the connection between running and book collecting, letter writing, gardening, B12 deficiency, and much more.

When Arianna left Huffington Post to create Thrive Global, I got an invitation to contribute to Thrive Global. My first piece, The Calming Effects of Knitting I Learned in Third Grade, was published in Thrive Global in January 2017. Others have followed including my piece on the spiritual dimension of ultrarunning.  My latest piece on Thrive Global is Taking Care of Mind and Body: Variety of Exercise Nourishes Physical and Mental Health
